3/6: Snow Box by Sarah J. Sloat

From the Author: The box poems reveal interior landscapes created by carefully unsealing and unfolding the little boxes that populate our households – aspirin, toothpaste, eye drops and pencil-set boxes, butter boxes and tiny packs of razor blades. I collage the inner panels and tabs, and add an aphorism or short poem. I like the tactile nature of analog work, finding the right images and colors, and fitting the paper along the folds. The texts I type with an old typewriter. It can be a relief to escape into these small worlds, and I love the transformation of the mundane and ubiquitous.
